Spring bear..

I will be hunting the Clearwater. Yes there are some hounds running over there, but it is so vast, two springs ago I saw only one hound hunter the whole of spring season. Nice thing is it's a two bear area and the non-resident tags are only $31.75.

I wasn't drawn for a hound permit, this will be strictly calling, spot and stalk with maybe a little baiting thrown in. :)

Sounds fun. Keep an eye on the ground for a moose paddle if the wolves haven't eaten them all yet. there are getting to be quite a few in the clearwater region.

When I hunted over there two years ago, the wolves were down on Kelly Creek where the elk were wintering. We looked for the cats up where the moose were and never seen any signs of the canis lupus kind. There is a TON of moose in there.
