High water

The water sure is high down at confluence in wenatchee, gunna make salmon fishing a little different on the opening week. maybe even longer, hopefully it wont affec the fishing too bad.

Water is pouring over grand coulee into Rufus pretty good..Lake Roosevelt even has a pretty good current.  Would all of this current make fish come up river faster or slower?  I heard there is a few thousand over Rock Island Dam.

the ripping current really shrinks down the area where they can be. It can be hard to fish but well worth it. One of our best spots requires high water, In fact it's only been high enough twice in the last 3 years and the first time we hooked like 60+ fish , the second we hooked 40+. If only i had more time...

why would the salmon be affected by the high water so much 
i agree with bluebulls for water level for other game species, such as bass and all. makes for better fishing.
i haven't looked at the the dam counts lately but wouldn't all this high water bring more fish up or do you think it would be better when it starts to drop?
i'll be up at alta lake next weekend doing some bassing and salmon below wells... hopefully like you said the fishing is good.

I know fluctuating levels can have a negative affect on the bite for certain species.

What is your favorite color superbait Alanger?

Drove by Grand Coulee Dam twice this last week.  Both times were during the day and the flood gates were wide open.  I have heard this from a couple guys as well.  Seems they are letting water out 24/7.  All this rain and snow melt is causing a lot of water to flow down stream.

What is your favorite color superbait Alanger? 

I have many favorites

glow frog, army truck, hot tamale, hotter tamale, lemon lime, seahawk, mountain doo and hot lava are my favorites.

In high water the salmon are closer to the bank. Fishing in high water can better than low water. Can't catch fish if you don't try so go out there and get me some pics.
