I would save a few bucks.  No reason to waste it on ducks.  I typically shoot all my ducks with 2-3/4 or 3" shells.  I got lucky on a score of BC last season which was mainly 3.5", so I shot them.
Cut em!

The larest I shoot is the 3".  The biggest problem I have with dropping birds is my eye.  I just don't see the need to take all that punishment from the big nasty shells with the arthritis in my neck.
