Me and a buddy went up to the winston unit for the late elk hunt 2 years ago and ended up camping a few miles away at an intersectiomn of two main paved roads along with a dozen other campers. Well we were in our camper after we just got set up and someone came knocking at the door looking for a fire extinguisher saying there was a fire. We grabbed the extinguisher and ran out to help, it was an old chevy motorhome with the starter stuck and it started  a bunch of stuff under the hood on fire. It was a group effort trying to get it out and after 20 or so minutes two guys that just wouldnt give up got it out. In the meantime while the firefighting was going on there were people calling the fire department and there was a van too close to the fire so i hopped in and moved it. the van  was just trashed and full of junk and after i got out the owners of the van hopped in and took off but their back doors were open and lots of tiny glass bottles fell out all over the road. they then took off for good. My buddie who is the bright one was sitting back surveying the situation and asked everybody who the owner of the motorhome was. Well they were not around it turns out they were the people in the van that recently hauled ass. Being the smart guy he puts two and two together , lots of little glass bottles falling out of the van and hauling ass when someone says the fire department is coming.  So he yells get the hell out of there its probably a mobile meth lab , i'm thinking propane bottles  and fire and whatever else is used in cooking that crap is not a good thing to be around so we stood back a ways. Someone opened the motorhome door and the bathroom was locked up with a chain acroos the door and it was padlocked. The fire department finally showed up and they  figured it was a mobile  meth lab but they could'nt or would'nt  i cant remember which, break into the bathroom. Oh and by the way we didnt get an elk but did find a nice set of 5X5 elk sheds

Master tracker i just moved here  about a year ago so i know very little about this area, I've spent some time in capitol forest and cruised around some timber company land in the area , exploring a little but not nearly as much as i should. We dont have any meth cooking neighbors and thankfully there are rules in the area i live about having an overabundance of crap in your yard. I may have to check out 660 if you have any starting points to check out feel free to pm me.

Struck a chord with a few folks I guess.

I commend people that try to look out for the greater good by reporting illegal activity.  The world needs more of you around.  I also think that its in peoples best interest to focus on problems that really plague the world, not some smoked-up hipster making a little cash growing pot.  The Meth epidemic has spread across the nation like wildfire.  Kids and adults alike are ruining their lives using meth-amphetamines.  Thats a tad more important in my book.

Those people that ruined there lives by using meth probably started out using pot. It is a gateway drug. Just take a look at the people that smoke that crap, it destroys their minds.

Agreed for the most part.
The flip side is that some of the most synonymous names in American history were potheads. I guess its sort of 6 of one half a dozen of the other.

I have found four meth labs and to many abandoned grow plots to count. I reported all of the meth labs to the the proper authority's for the individual areas I was in. Two of the meth labs were in national forest and two of them were in private timber land. They left a complete mess. one of the labs was by far the biggest. There was probably close to one hundred empty gallons of chemicals thrown around and thousands of smaller bottels every where. They left a tent, couple of tarps, sleeping bags, old clothes and other personal items but nothing that the sheriff could identify any one with, unfortunately.
The grow operations I found were all in cowlitz and lewis county in the 1990's and I did not report them. Looking back I wish I would have. At the time I did not report them, because the plants were gone and the only evidence I ever found was cut off stems, holes in the ground (too hold water I guess), fertilizer and empty bags of potting soil, and a couple of watering systems with water pipe.
These people are a threat to the security of the property that we enjoy. If we continue to have the explotion of private timber land and national forests, our access is going to be limited yet again. Our safety is definitely being jeopardized, our health and the health of the wildlife we enjoy persuing is also in great jeopardy. Please turn in any illeagle activity you encounter for the good of all.
