ok, just so we are all on the same page here. i won't tell anyone the unit where this bull was shot. there's already a ton of people hunting in there, and frankly i don't want anyone screwing up any of my hunts in the future. that being said, i figured i'd post the story.

On Friday, i called 5 bulls into bow range. The first was this bull. he came in to about 40 yards screaming. Right about the time i'm gonna pull my bow back and let him have it, i feel the wind hit me in the back of the neck, and you can guess what happened next. so rather than chase him and blow out of the country, i chose to move on and see if i could locate another bull. after a short time, i get another bull going. he comes in, and he's a 7x7. not a monster, but a nice bull and he's crowned on top. I have him broadside 41 yards with a small limb just in my way. so, i aim right at the limb, thinking i would never hit it, and yup, you guessed it. arrow corkscrewed out of sight below the bull. also a small 3 point came in with him, but he wasn't a shooter. about an hour later i get a yet another bull going, and this one sounds good. he comes in and of course he's in a bunch of brush, so no shot, but he's a good 6x6 probably in the 300" range. needless to say no shot and he walked away.

Saturday comes and i figure i'll give it another go. i was only able to hunt the afternoon on Saturday due to prior obligations. so i head out at 1 pm to give my self the most time to find the bulls. at 6:50 i get my first bull bugling. thinking that i don't have enough time to call him in, i was just going to leave and be back in the morning, but i decided to try. the first bull that came busted me a small 3 pt (same bull as the day before) the next bull was a nice 5 pt that i had not seen before. and yes he busts me at 30 yards and i don't get a shot, but this bull keeps coming. Everytime i bugle, he just gets more pissed off. he ended up coming to 12 yards and started horning a tree. a few cow calls later he turned and started to bugle and WHACK!! thats basically the story.
