Cougar Down!
« on: September 23, 2010, 10:32:41 AM »
My buddy shot a cougar with his bow!  He says they purposely stalked it and made a call at it.  His story is below.  He's crazy I know that so I have to believe him.  He says it was a big male and the pictures don't lie.  His story is below....

Hey Guys,

wanted to send you a couple of picks of this big Tom Cat I killed in the backcountry friday.  My buddy spotted the cougar  on a ridge above us while we were glassing for mule deer.  The cat was about 450 yards away sunning himself on a big rock.  We thought that if we could close the distance to 100 yards we could call him in with a doe or fawn call.  We figured he was hungry and thought he would come belly crawling at us and we would slip an arrow in him.  We worked our way up the ridge slowly, we got to about 100 yards from where we thought the cougar was bedded.  We notice a group 4 mule deer bucks feeding below the Cat on our contour, that's when one of the bucks noticed the cougar stalking them and let out a loud snort and they all busted.  As the bucks busted down the hill john let out a perfectly timed doe call and the cat came sprinting full tilt at us, I raised my bow anchored my peepsight, centered my top pin and smoked him at 20 yards!  What a Hunt!

Nice cougar but you buddy looks like the Grim Reaper!!

I am just curious, but why do guys block out their faces in photos??? I have seen a few here the past couple days, but I am left scratching my head as to why. Just curious.

If you don't have expicit permission from the hunter to post the photos it's best to block out the face.  After all, this is the internet.  OR if the hunter asks you to take his face out.
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I asked my buddy if it was ok to post on this site but I haven't heard back from him yet.  He may be disappointed that I posted the picture even with his face blacked out.  To each there own.
