It was an outstanding shot, the gun is a custom 300 RUM, with an 8x32x56 Nightforce, handloads and a great kid who practices with dad all the time. Totally legit, I can't wait for next year!!! Way to go Austin :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

I can't get past the 7 year old that regularly shoots a 300RUM, I don't care how far the shot was. That kid's a maniac.

Good grief, I'm behind the power curve with my 2 sons, then.  I was just glad my boy could tell the difference between an elk and a deer :o

Wow! I hope the military is aware of his skill. He should get a free ride! One disciplined kid to shoot a 300rum at all, let alone 500+ yards! Congrats!
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

How did you keep the Custom 300UM from kicking Austin bad.  What do they do to it to reduce recoil.. I have one and there is a difference between it and a .243 for example.  Did you haul out a caldwell lead sled?...LOL.  Just curious.  I have some friends with sore shoulders after shooting my .300UM. Mine isn't custom however.. Buncha weinies!
