Sucess!
« on: October 27, 2010, 02:04:01 AM »
Was able to fill my antlerless permit for the Winston area Tuesday morning.   Then my buddy tagged out on a spike later that afternoon.   Because of work schedules/conflicts, he has only been able to get out 4 days this season and I have only been able to make it to the woods for 3 of those.   We hunt together every chance we get and have for years.   Even if we don't see anything, we still manage to make a good day out of it...better than working, that's for sure.

Would like to give some really cool and interesting story about super difficult stalks...amazing, one-of-a-kind shots and such, but that just wasn't the case.   His spike is most likely from last years crop and mine was a medium-sized, dry doe.   Will be some seriously good eats!   Both came from the Winston unit.

Sorry, but did not get any pictures -  just wanted to get things taken care of and the camera never made it out of the rig.   The spike was starting to get a little rutty "tinge" from the rear glands, but was not showing any neck swelling and was not in the company of any does.

Anyway, hope everyone has the same luck as we did.   Good luck and be safe!

It is better to be consistently incorrect than inconsistently correct...

Sarcasm: The ability to insult stupid people without them realizing it.

My level of sarcasm depends on your level of stupidity...

Sarcasm makes smart people laugh and stupid people mad.

Congrats Blacktail Sniper,  having meat in the freezer is never a bad thing.

I have been so busy this season with multiple things I may just end up eating Multi Season Deer Tag Soup.

Blacktail Sniper-  Good job on filling the freezer.

Michelle- Do you think the multi-season tag soup will taste better than "regular" tag soup?   :dunno:   :chuckle:
