First gobbler of the year!!
PolarBear:
Well, I've been at home sick for the past 2 days and started to feel better this afternoon. I decided to get some fresh air, sit in my treestand and try to call up a coyote. I call for a few minutes and wait. After 3 or 4 minutes I see something moving 100 yards off to my left at the timbers edge. It was 6 turkeys. I havent seen them around here in a while. One was a pretty nice tom that was showing was stuff in the sunshine. I couldnt stand it so I hiked to the house and got my Grandpa's old box caller, 12 gauge and snuck down to the fence line. After 10 minutes of calling the whole group are within 40 yards of me. I squeeze off and bam, my first turkey in almost 25 years. He has a beard that is close to 11". I'm going to call Michelle about doing a full on mount for me. Now I am planning on a trip to Republic this weekend to try for another one over there. Maybe I can get a WA slam. I will post pics later this evening after I get back from my kids ball game.

Didn't know trkey season was open, but what the hell they are sort of like Vermin, should shoot a couple more and make some AF jerky.
