Anybody reload for 300 RUM, 200 Grain Barnes TTSX Bullets?
« on: January 10, 2011, 12:27:18 PM »
Looking for what kind of velocity someone has got with this combo. Specifically, I am trying to do the following:

Federal Brass, 200 Grain Barnes TTSX, RL 25 powder, 89-92 grains, COAL 3.6 to 3.54 (doing a test of 20, 5 each).. I want to get a good load that lets me get 1" MOA or less at 3000fps+

Thoughts?

3000fps with RL-25 shouldnt be a problem, I made 3000 with a stiff load og IMR-7828 and 3100fps with retumbo.
I never found a sub MOA load in my RUM with barnes 180's or 200's.
Accubonds and A-max's shoot a lot betteer in my rifle.

Ive been reloading for 300Rum for almost 2 years. I only shoot hornady bullets I feel they shoot the best. I use there IB for hunting purposes. I shoot the 180 grain in front of 99 grains of retumbo for and get speeds above 3100. and keep it within 3 inches at 100 and 6inches at 200 and im just a recreational shooter and dont shoot as often as i should or would like to. looking in my hornady for RL 25 it says to use 92.5 for an equivlent load
