Hunted there in '05. Expect to have a lot of company. There were camps everywhere. But I think if you're willing and able to hike into some of the more remote spots away from major trails, you could probably find some area to hunt all by yourself. Deer were few and far between but I did end up with a average 4x4 on the last day of our hunt.

Is this little ride you're talking about for the purposes of hunting, or for just a fun pack trip?  Neat area.  Bring a camera.

I'd say it would be worth hunting. Just plan on getting in there a few days before the season starts to do some sight seeing and hopefully find some deer. There is an outfitter that puts a lot of drop camps in there. You might talk to him first and find out where they WON'T be. The nice thing about that side of the Pasayten is it's not as steep as the west side, and it's supposed to be a little bit drier.

He is a good outfitter also, and I'm sure he'd be more than willing to help you out if you needed it.

You can reach Steve & Jess Darwood at 509-997-0155 website is http://cascadewildernessoutfitters.com
They would be glad to offer some assistance in planning your hunt.  They can let you know where their camps will be and also where the private guys camp as well (same groups go in there every year).

Good luck and thanks for hunting the Pasayten.

Good luck and thanks for hunting the Pasayten.

:chuckle:   You say that because you hunt elsewhere?
