I do a little recreational gold prospecting in Wa. and was wondering if anybody knows of rivers or streams in Wa. that have produced gold?

When I was a kid my dad and I would go down to the Green. Just below the bridge between Enumclaw and Blackdiamond. Not gonna make any money off of the amounts we would get, but it was fun.

We use to get some real fine stuff out of the San Poil and a few other streams around Republic.  One of my old hunting buddies took a couple of days off from hunting and panned up enough to pay for his trip.  That was many years ago though and he worked his butt off for it.

Is there any specific county you want to know about ? I have books that tell about gold in each county of washington and specific creeks and places even some old ghost towns. Just let me know and i can give you some info.

Not really looking for specific river or streams just in Wa. I live in Cowlitz county and I am getting small fines from the Cowlitz river.

Thanks. Wa. rules and regs aren't so bad. You can go online to print the permit but you are right about certain times. Some creeks and river only open a few weeks a year.

Yep waddel crk or cedar crk in capital forest. I found a few flakes in both those creeks about 6 or 7 years ago.
