If you have the modern firearm tag and it is during the modern firearm (general) season, yes. Also, I believe if you have a special permit with a modern firearm tag, yes. |

If its for a "big game animal" then you must hunt during modern firearm season, with a modern tag. If you want to use a scope on a smoke pole. If you are just hunting yotes, then you can use a scope on your muzzle loader any time you want. |

You could hunt bears with a scoped muzzleloader. Or as others have said, deer and/or elk during the modern firearm seasons, with a modern firearm tag. |

Great info! To be more specific, its an area that is firearms restricted, but holds bears. I feel that my chances will be better with a scoped muzzleloader than a bow. It seems the only time muzzleloading regulations are concerned is during elk and deer muzzleloading season. Is that a correct assumption? Justin |
