« on: June 17, 2011, 07:12:53 AM »
I have a Bull tag for GMU 621. Would like information from anyone having drawn permit in the past. Also from anyone with knowledge about this area. I think I will use a outfitting service for this hunt. Thanks any information will be most helpful

Is this the 1 riffle tag the 3rd week in September? If so, I drew it last year.

Just looked it up,
2816 Olympic WF Nov. 5-15 3 pt. min. GMU 621, except for Elk Area 6071 14 665 / 7
It's not the one I drew last year sorry. I do put in for it and was told to get ahold of the game dept. for help. There is some big bulls seen this in that heard.

Had the archery tag several years ago.
Its kind of an odd area. While I think it could be a premium draw, it really not, most of the time. Looking at the success history, it's not that great.
Not that there aren't nice animals. Most of the land where the elk are in the north part is all small private parcels. Tribes hunt quite a bit on the east side, and some of the elk hang out on private land in the river valleys there too, esp. when pressured.
There are some elk in the wilderness areas, never really checked it out.

I'd contact a wdfw biologist. Best advice I got was from a game warden I ran into while scouting.
