WIFI Game Cameras?
« on: July 17, 2011, 12:30:15 PM »
I was looking at a DLC Covert "Special Ops" IR Digital Trail Camera.  Anyone know anything or have personal experience with one?  There are a few different ones out there right now that will send a pic or video at your home computer or cell phone, but I just haven't heard anything about any of them.  It would be nice not to have to drive all the way out to my hole to look at photos.  Plus the $$$ it would save on gas would definately pay for it within a year or two, since I drive 50 miles round trip to get there.

its not WIFI it is act as a cell phone you have to add it as another line on you cell phone plan. so just make sure you have cell service where you are placing your camera and it won't work with verizon only GSM networks (those with sim cards)

They sound nice...but costly.. my cams are 60 mi round trip and its far cheaper to check every 2 weeks. Moultrie u pay a outside company..u can log into your moultrie account and see pics...also sends u email notifications that u got a pic. Last time I checked it was $90 a month for up to 900 pics a month. Its also true the cam has to be in cell service area

Thanks....Yeah I have no desire to pay an outside company $90 to view my own pictures.  I use Verizon so would have to get a T-Mobile or AT&T sim card.  But if I do that then every text that gets sent to my phone will be billed to my verizon account since it is coming from a non-Verizon phone.  Guess I could have the pics sent to my email and then view it from my phone and avoid the direct charge.  I have great cell service in my spot so not worried about that.
