I wonder if they are going to do this during modern too?  I hope not because I would rather ride my bike back in there and get away from everyone else.

I understand that modern the gates are open during modern because the fire hazard is lower.  We have a modern cow also.

Is the 2500 road open for Mt. bike access during early archery?

It looks like it runs back and forth between the Winston and Margaret. Is that accurate??
I have only spent a couple days hunting the Winston but it's been from the Winston Creek side.

This isn't good info to me. I have the same tag and I can tell you that hunting with the gates closed is much better. As far as retrieval, they always let you in if you have an animal down. I wouldn't mind if they opened them up just for the weekend like they do during modern to give the older/disabled guys a shot but you will see more guys trolling than at the opener of trout at mineral lake.

The 2500 rd off 504 is closed to everyone always. The hotline will tell you all the info you need.

you can't fake it,
you gotta live it.

The 2500 rd is open for the weekends only during the modern season, and it is walk/bike in during the week. Having said that I've always seen a cow that was within range on opening day every year that I've hunted the Winston.

We used the road that takes you up to the fish hatchery. It might be the 500 rd it's been a few years since I've hunted up there. Send me a PM if you want more info.

Thanks for the setting me straight, like I said it's been 4 years with a tour in afghanistan since I've hunted down there. Damn I must be getting old, I can't remember the names of the roads but I could find my way back if I needed to.

Does anybody know what gates are closed year around? I want to take my mountain bike back away from everyone, but I have only ever hunted the 1900 and 1100 lines.
