Another trip on the Columbia for Sturgeon
« on: June 23, 2008, 10:06:10 PM »
Well, just made it back...  Last minute decision to run.  Good day for sure, two of us in the boat, 9 fish, 7 of them in the realm of 39"-44"  Two keepers 46" and 47"...  A special thanks goes out to the guy that let me follow and find a couple new holes a weekend ago....  They paid off. 6 fish in the first hour of being there without another boat around...  Thanks Huntnphool....   Are they going to extend it????  I guess wishful thinking on my part???

Okay guys here is the skinny. F&G is having a meeting on the 26th to discuss extending the sturgeon season. They know the catch was not even close to the quota and realize the fish are late due to water temp, high runoff etc. and realize the temp is just now getting to where the fish will head into the river and start feeding. Of course this may mean they will try and save the majority of them and keep it closed but at least they are going to discuss it. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Yeah, westside apparantly is all 55, and I am used to 60, with my speed usually about 65.  Well, I got tagged at 68.  He was not in a good mood whatsoever and didn't drop it one or two mph.  I had a clean record and everything.  Now I don't.  He was jsut doing his job, and I was guilty.  He jsut wasn't very nice about it , and kind of hassled me.  Mom raised a strange son though, I thanked him for the ticket and on I went.  $144 dollars later..........
