Montana Elk (Not)

 I just got back from a 2 week trip over there. The hunting was terrible this year. Not only were they not talking and very skittish. But we didnt see the amount of elk we usually see. Very disapointing.

Weather, wolves or what do you think was the issue?

All of the above....Weather, wolves,
1.  The weather was so hot that they just really weren't talking too much.
2.  The wolves howling at us when we set up in a drainage, makes you pretty sure that the elk knew better than to pipe up. 
Just my thoughts, and quite a few other locals and hunters in the area.

All weather where I was. They've learned to adapt with the wolves. A little less vocal, but that's expected. When they decided to get crazy, they did. Seemed like every 3 days in the evening.
