Saw a small buck chasing a doe this morning in 501 unit, he was hot on her tail and wouldn't slow down long enough to get a good shot off. but also saw a very big mature doe by herself with no buck around. Honestly I think it's just now starting to pick up in s.w area.
To God alone be the Glory!!

I seen a pretty nice three point trying to mount a doe while chasing her fawns off on wednesday out in Enumclaw he was definetely rutting good that was in the middle of the day in the sunshine as well.  I also noticed the last couple days before we headed home from our hunt in the Peola unit the younger muley bucks were following the does around quite abit.  Appears to be an early rut this year.

We'll see how tommorow goes. Got the urine, grunt tube and ratling horns in my pack, ready to go for tommorow. Ginna hit JBLM TA8, so we will see how it goes  :dunno:

Saw no sign of it in Skagit/Snohomish Co areas until yesterday. Found a bunch of fresh rubs and one buck with a doe. He was still thinking clearly enough to take off ASAP and leave her behind though. I saw one small buck today and it had zero sign of a swollen neck.
I also saw small groups of does near my house a few times wednesday and thursday with no bucks around them. Things have been pretty quiet so far.

Also, yesterday, I followed a trail of bloody deer urine for a couple hundred yards, and then jumped a doe out of her bed. I'd say if the does are coming into heat, the rut is on. Although we still can't find any dumb bucks thinking with the wrong head. They still are only coming out at night.   :bash:

Seen one buck.. a little forky.. I jumped him out of his bed.. instinct took over and bam.. my season was done..  Finding all kinds of fresh sign.. but no deer during the daylight hours
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

They are rutting in the islands.  19 inch neck on the fork I took Wednesday and his back legs look like he's had the runs eating too much chocolate.   :chuckle:
