sinlahekin late whitetail
« on: November 01, 2011, 10:31:07 AM »
I drew a late whitetail hunt for Sinlahekin, nov 1-20, what would be the best time to head over there? Are they rutting at all yet? What kind of bucks should i be considering shooting? I've killed a lot of nice mule deer but only one small 3pt whitey and would like to hold off for something big if there in there. thanks!

Late archery starts up around Nov 21st, might take advanatge of hunting with no pressure. Can't imagine there are tons of guys hunting during your window. Hope for some snow. There are some nice whitetails in the area, just don't seem them everywhere. Did see some during the early season up high.

Sounds like you might get some weather and that could get the rutt going a little for you! Good luck  ;)

I have an Any Buck Sinlahekin permit.  Snow will help.  I may see you there.  Good luck!

Go as late as possible, the bucks didnt even come close to any ruting activity last year until the last 2 days of the season. I shot my buck on the second to last day. If there is no snow, go high, I saw bucks at 4000' elevation. West side of the valley ;)
