Youth rifle
« on: January 09, 2012, 07:31:17 PM »
If my kids were not already shooting .243 rifles, I might have bought a rifle today. I looked at a post-64 model 70 carbine chambered in .250/3000 with a Leupold VXII 3x9x40 for $350. The objective lense had a fair amount of dust on it so the rifle must have been idle for a while. The stock had been shortened a little less than normal youth but totally looked factory. I wanted it but I have plenty of youth firearms. :bash: :bash:

You missed a deal. Off the scope for a c-note and you have a barreled action for $250

Is it still available?

I think 250/3000 is such a cool chambering.

Sure that wasn't a typo and 3500.00 :chuckle: :chuckle: if indeed it was at High Mountain. I would purchase firarms from them but every handgun and rifle they have quoted me here in Wenatchee has been 100.00-200.00 bucks more than if I drive 6 blocks down the road and purchase it at Hooked On Toys. I also can't stand the BS 45.00 FFL transfer fee, when Hooked On Toys does it for 20.00.

I actually wonder how many schmucks does it take to keep a place open in this valley( Wenatchee )?

I have not dealt with HM before. Transfer fees seem to be around $25 where I've dealt.

Sounds like a great deal to me. I would for sure check the bore out on it.

45.00 for a transfer fee, heck I was just calling arounf a week or so ago for a place to ship my lowers to. One guy I have done a lot of business with was being a di$%.  He wanted to sell me the lowers he could order and not just do a transfer. He told me 65.00 each for each of the lowers I wanted to ship to him :yike: I told him no more of my greenbacks for him  Found another guy that is doing to them for 20.00
