The way I mount the chains on the back of the target, the target is actually "leaning" forward a bit so it deflects any bullet fragments downward. I am usually at least 30 seconds between long range shots so there is plenty of time for the target to stop swaying. I never have an issue in the wind.
I use a old cut in half oxygen bottle. good ring when you hit it. I dont think you need AR plate, your shooting at this so if you use black steel its much cheaper and readily available almost anywhere
