Any gun Smiths around Puyallup Area???
« on: April 15, 2012, 05:08:44 PM »
I just bought my smith and wesson 44 mag 629 classic a month ago and today when out shooting the gun locked itself. The hammer will only pull back maybe an 1/8 in and the cylinder will not come out. This is really starting to piss me off, 1 month and this happens. Thought smith and wesson made gun products.

About 2 years ago my son bought a 44 Mag Smith and Wesson. He brought it home to brag about. I think it was called an Alaskan? I checked it out and one of the teeth on the star of the cylinder had a chip. Not just a paint chip but a chunk of the tooth was already chipped off. I asked him if it was used. He said no its brand new. But it also had bluing chips. Might as well call it paint chips the way it looked.

I thought I scanned the cylinder I can't find it now. I called Smith and Wesson and they were really know help at all. So he sold it back to Cabelas. I showed him my cylinder on my Ruger Super Black hawk that who knows how many rounds I shot through it and it look pristine compared to that brand new Smith and Wesson.

I was pretty soured when I saw my sons. I will have to tell him about this.

I'll look around and see if I can find that scan I took. I'll put it up if I find it.

So I called federal way discount guns yesterday since that is where i purchased the pistol from and they had me bring it in so the gun smith could take a look at it today. Since its still under warranty and it wasn't something that I had done to the pistol they will be having it fixed for free.
