I'm not sure how custom your talking but I have used Nosler Custom ammo. It shoots good but for the cost I'm not sure it's worth it. After shipping and it was just under $80 for 20 rounds of .300 ultra mag ammo. Some of the factory stuff out there now days shoots just as good in my opinion.

I used Conley Precision and they made up some really good moose loads for my .358.  They loaded some 225 grain Barnes x premium bullets and they grouped tight and killed it quick.  I got a complete pass through with two shots on my moose.  I ordered 3 boxes to make it worthwhile with shipping.  Good stuff.

   I would be happy to buy bullets and provide brass to a fellow who knows whats up.  Id like to get some woodleigh bullets or some 300 grainers.  A fellow could make some decent money/

Not trying to be offensive Pope, but aren't you a lawyer?  Do you know what kind of liability a guy would assume if he just sold "custom" handloads to someone else on this site?  I would sure wanna have someone with your degree and several signed pieces of paper in hand before I'd do it for anyone other than my own family.

Commercial ammo is very good today.  Especially the premium lines loaded with premium bullets by Nosler/Hornady/Sierra, etc..  For a hunting rifle, personally I think if you want to spend the money, buy several brands of premium ammo in the bullet weight you desire.  Go to the range, and thoroughly test fire each one.  Select the brand that shoots best in your rifle, go out and buy 3-4 more boxes, call it good.

For life...for that rifle. 

Most people I see at the range, do not shoot better than their ammo.  Almost never.  That's really hard to do, unless you shoot a LOT and OFTEN.  I know, I know.  Everybody is a natural dead shot.

OK, maybe you've got a very unusual caliber, maybe a wildcat or a fancy new short magnum that ammo cost an arm and a leg for.  Maybe.  MAYBE that's a special case and a good argument for custom ammo.  Maybe.

This reminds me of a story about whiskey.  My drink for years has been Crown Royal.  It used to be the best whiskey made by whoever makes Crown.  I've drank more than my fair share of this stuff, I still love it, even tho I don't drink much anymore.  But years ago, Crown introduced another...even more premium...whiskey called Crown Royal Special Preserve.  Dang!     I was going to buy a bottle, but the priced was 1/2 again more expensive than Crown Royal, and just plain CR was expensive as it was.  I thought to myself, as good as Crown is, how much better, could this new stuff be.  I eventually found that answer.  Not commensurate with the increased price.  Not even close.

This is probably true for most people in regards to buying custom ammo for hunting...

As an experienced reloader, I can tell you that you really have to have your act together, to reload and turn out ammo that is superior ammo to what is available in the commercial premium ammo lines.  The only way to really beat the commercial interests these days, is to develop custom loaded ammo specific to one firearm.  That also requires being highly selective of components, not just for brand, but lot, and not just for lot, but selective screening within a batch lot.  Then you need very rigid and refined loading processes.  It's a very time consuming process building, testing, refining reloads for a specific firearm, that really shoot better, than premium commercial ammo.  From a perspective of hunting, I don't believe the performance gain over premium commercial ammo is worth the effort.  Especially if you find a brand that shoots well in your firearm, as I suggest above.  Now if you get a kick out of hunting with a bench rest rifle, with bench rest ammo, pay somebody and have at it.  Heck, I couldn't justify the time and effort for myself, if I didn't get such a kick out of having my own custom ammo factory.

That's the one scenario where you have no choice.  Either pay someone to roll em for ya, or spool up to roll yer own.

Probably kinda like boats.  The only thing better than reloading yourself, is having a buddy, who has all the equipment to reload...

No, Im not worried about wringing the last little bit of velocity out of it, or even getting the teenist tiniest wee little groups. I just want long super heavy 300 grain bullets, thats all. I seldom if ever shoot off of a bench and target accuracy and hunting accuracy are two different things in my book. Minute of grapefruit accuracy is fine by me. If i really want super accuracy and high velocity, I would shoot 200's.

With 300 grain bullets I would check if the ogive of the bullet is off the lands of the rifling.  So if WAredneck loads some cartridges for you, bring your rifle to check some dummy rounds.
