Drew an elk tag! :IBCOOL: 16a, 16d, or 16b. I will take any of them, Gila here we come! I'm so pumped!

Which which weapon and season?

I think bone drew one of those units a few years ago.

All three were for third archery season. Our best chance or odds are for 16b, but maybe a guy could get lucky and draw 16D, 1% chance last year for non-res, non-guide! 16A would be sweet too. So anxious to see which one.

Lucky Dog!  I'm still waiting for the Valles Caldera to post.  BTW, you are right, 6B.  You unit is over on the west side of the state.  Great unit though!

Congrats!

I saw a monster bull in 16a a couple years ago.   One of the first true 400 inch bulls I have seen and he was young.   He was standing alongside the road.   Not the most brilliant thing to do when you are that size.   Congrats to all the hunters that drew.  One hell of a hunt!

Just saw the thread on MM.  Things are looking good for me on elk.

My cousin might have drawn elk and oryx with overlapping dates.  Oops.

If.he wants to assign one of those tags my way I'd be happy to pay him the cost of the tag  :chuckle:

Tell him congrats on the draws from all of us little people.

Well, it all worked out.  We drew our 2nd choice on elk, so my cousin will be hunting elk the week of 9/11-18, then he turns around and goes back the next week for his oryx tag on the Stallion Range.

16A 2nd archery for me....

Congrats on 16A, I got some info for you. A good friend hunted it last year. I will make a call and pm you whatever I can dig up. Should be a great hunt. Now we just need some moisture in the area to help that antler growth!! I couldn't even sleep last night, had restless tag syndrome!! So it begins... lol
