Closest boat launch to the mouth of the Kettle River
« on: June 17, 2012, 12:58:58 PM »
Hey y'all!

I was just wondering if someone could tell me the closest boat launch to the mouth of the Kettle River. Or at least boat launches up in that area. Thank you very much!

There is a primitive ramp upstream a couple miles, I can't remember the name though.
Just south of a bridge.

I used to launch right at Kamloops Island which is at the mouth, you might check there first, but the Park Service probably shut that down.

The next closest place is Marcus Island right below the town of Marcus which is slightly upstream and across Lake Roosevelt from the mouth of the Kettle. Haven't checked that launch in a while, if Marcus is no longer possible then you will have to use Evans, Kettle Marina, or Napoleon Boat Launch. Those three are all about the same distance from the mouth of the Kettle.

Call and ask if you can launch at Kamloops or Marcus, or if you have to go to one of the other launches.

Kettle falls boat ramp is going to be your best bet right now.  I just motored up to China Bend from the Kettle Falls boat ramp 3 days ago and all the ramps north of Kettle are still out of water.  The mouth of the Kettle river is only a 10 minute boat ride at the most from the Kettle boat ramp.  Hope that helps.......John
