I drew a modern rifle cow tag for GMU 346 this year. It was my 3rd choice, and I am not familiar with the unit. I have been hunting across the highway in Bumping for the past 20 years plus. Any suggestions on where to go? Rob Walker

Yeah to a map and early so you know where to go during the season

c-post :chuckle:. there are elk every where in the unit. bring a lawn chair, and wait for the elk to cross the road :chuckle:. seriously it is that easy :chuckle:. Icould see that you have never hunted it because you cant spell naches.
Best advice is go drive some roads up there during hunting season and shoot one. It is a easy meat tag to fill. being in that unit every day for the past few years has let me know that most of the elk in that unit hang by the road.
Just curious, how many points you have?

8 points for cow- I have not been very lucky with my draw in recent years.

Good idea to scout the roads early. I used to hunt in that unit back in the nineties and then took a break from it for about a decade. Went back last labor day and noticed during my drive around that all of the clear cuts I used to check out were grown in with 25 foot trees. The trees and bushes were tight to the roads too, so visibility was limited.

Hunterofelk looks like your person of contact for that hunt.

Those little Naches elk are seriously everywhere, your best bet is to bring a comfortable chair. I see more in the late afternoon than in the mornings.
