Title: Any one use one of these?? Scope Bubble Level

They look pretty sweet and I read they help with shooting out over 400 Yards. Curious on what your experience has been using one of these.

Keeps the cross hairs level, if they arent some of the elevation that has been dailed in is now throwing your round to the right or left (depending on which way your canted) and is now longing aimed high enough to conteract gravity, so the round is going to be off target horizontally and low. Plus, any adjustments wont be accurate. Say you canted right and shot low right. So you turn your scope up and left. Now that really will move it further right and up for elevation and further left and up for the windage adjustment, if your cant is exactly the same on the next shot.

I used to have a stock that flexed so bad when on the bipod that I could sight it in on a rest, switch to the bipod and be eight inches off at 100 yards.

And I only see one more thing to distract you while your buck or bull is making it's escape. Sounds like a bit of a gimmick to me, but to each his own.

They are on most bow sites.....I have referred to a level for years, and with a rifle, as with a bow, my thought is it will become second nature/subconscious reference.....not focal.

At 1,000 yards, 6 degrees of CANT (visualized as 1 minute on a clock; and completely undetectable to the naked eye) moves the point of impact 55 inches from the point of aim.

That's a total miss on most game we hunt here in the western states... most game anywhere for that matter.

Obviously it's much more pronounced the farther away the target and amount of CANT each person naturally holds, but is clearly another factor to compensate for (when shooting long distances anyway).

And most people subconsciously CANT the gun without even knowing it.

Post by: MadHatter on July 07, 2012, 09:39:48 AM: I think for the average shooter or hunter they would just be something else on your rifle to break or take your focus off taking the shot. But if you are precision shooting these are awesome to have. I have one on my .308 but the one I have is more conpact and less if a snag hazard, and it mounts to my picatinny rail instead of ny scope. I got one because I have an axiom stock, so the forend is pretty flexible. I will look to see which one I have and post a link if anyone is interested.
