Title: long range practice
Post by: BULLBLASTER on July 08, 2012, 04:01:18 PM
I made it out today to do some shooting and since nobody else was out I was able to shoot far. I was shooting 110 yards. And the pic is my second group of the day. Doing pretty well.

I recognise that range have shot there since i was a kid.  Usually the rendezvous shoot.  That is good shooting at 110 yards.  What bow are you shooting?

Nice job!
What is sad is that I know guys who are content with groups like that at under 40 yards.  :bash:  They wouldn't be able to hit within 20 feet of those bales at 110.   :chuckle:

This was the next group I shot at 110.
Bow is a vendetta XL. 12 inch stab and set up for WA legal hunting. Range is evergreen archery in Spokane WA
Practice this far makes 20-30 like chip shots.

My buddies and i were just talking about the 3D shoots up there.  You need to really know what your target is because there are so many whitetails and turkeys running around.  A freind of our family drew down on a deer one time and it started walking he thought it was the target until it moved.  Fun place to shoot.

Challenge excepted!  ;)

Ok I wont!  but i did take a pic of group at 130 when I was getting ready for the distance shoot in MT that wasn't bad :chuckle:

Although it really doesn't matter who can shoot the better group because when the pressure is on and a new Alien bow is on the line we all know who wins! :bash:

I am certain that I could not shoot that group at 20 yards with a recurve! I would probably shoot myself in the foot! :bdid:

Nice shooting. I haven't shot much beyond 70, but it looks like a lot of fun. How high were you holding your lowest pin?

holding dead on with my lowest pin. With this sight I can have fixed pins to 50 and then dial in to anything farther and aim with the bottom pin.

Yes I am barely legal but this.set up spines well and shoots great for me.
