There is a side profile and rump profile of a cow elk made by Montana decoys. What is your personal experience with these silhouettes?
-
yes.
-
Should be really good if you are trying to attract Wolves! :chuckle:
-
I think they are well worth it! :twocents:
We will use 1 -2 when we set up to call.
-
I have never had any luck with them in my tree stand, but always wondered if it would allow you to walk up on elk close enough to get a shot ( by using them as a sheild)??
-
I buying one after the good reviews from people I actually trust. There is no magic bullet, but I hear they have helped pull in some bulls so I'll I've it a try.
-
be carefull where you use them !
-
You'll get no argument from me--I'm a sucker for camo, calls, and decoys. They work, but not always for what you are looking to lure in.... :chuckle:
-
I'd buy alk 3 you could have your own little heard.
-
If i spent the 100 bucks or whatever they cost now and it worked one time I'd consider it money well spent.
-
yeah the decoys really work. I have used the elk and the moose decoys and they are awesome and very simple to use

Check out these while you're at it. I had the Montana Decoy but it was not good for packing around - Rigid Plastic and big - ended up not using it. These are photo fabric with metal hoops. Never seen one in person though...

Not sure what you're talking about, but your link takes you to the Montana decoy section. They're made of fabric with spring steel. No plastic in 'em.

Showing my age I guess.... :dunno: I got mine a long time ago... Prototype by today standards, photo printed on hard plastic... 'nough said.

I bought one 4 or 5 years ago and have deployed it when possible ( about 20 % of the time when calling ) and I have yet to have it make a difference as far as a bull seeing it and coming in closer. I have had cows, deer etc see it & be close to it and was relieved it did not scare them. I still carry it as the one time it does work & keeps him coming , I will think it is the greatest. My problem has been getting it out fast & in the right place. Mike

Can you explain on the where you use them part?
-
He probably means so you dont get some crazy city slicker blasting at you and your decoy. That's my guess anyway.
-
I wouldn't use them around other hunters or during a rifle season unless you wanna get shot. . I used some homemade one in Idaho and snuck in on a bull in the wide open wearing one that looked like a ass patch . Setting one up well behind you to get the focas off your location would be your best bet .
-
i own one and use it every year.
-
They kick ass, but be cautious using them during rifle season :yike:
-
im thinking about buying the heads up decoy this year, seems like its easier to pack around and set up.
-
I would use it for archery season for my bull tag and have it as an attention getter to take the focus off myself in the set up.
