Title: Anyone know of a good crabbing dock or pier?
Post by: DoubleJ on July 10, 2012, 12:39:56 PM
PM me if you want or post it here.  I don't have a boat or open water pots so I'm restricted to a dock or pier.  Anyone know of a good one?  Closer to Shelton the better.

Thanks

When I was SCUBA Diving, the best spot I knew of was under the Mukilteo Ferry Dock.  LOADS of them there!  Even before 9-11 we had to park and gear up a couple hundred yards north of the dock and swim to it.  probably more restrictive now.

There’s a public fishing dock just North of the Ferry, in front of Ivars.  They catch a few crab off that.  Long drive from Shelton though.

Both of those are.  I suppose I'll just keep an eye on the thread and see what everyone has to say.  Only place I've ever gone was Illahee State Park but that was 20 years ago and the crabbing stunk then.  Not sure how it'd be now

One time I drove all the way over to Hoodsport specifically to dive for crabs.  When I got there I found out that the WDFG had just passed the regulation that you had to have a Catch Card to get crabs, in addition to a fishing license.  I was so pi$$ed off I haven't even bought a fishing license since then!
