Is that the mail box above the Washington State Fire Academy? If so it gets checked often all of the classes that finish do this hike at the end of the academy even in the snow

He's likely talking about the same place.

I doubt they do that trail in the snow the peak is right under 5000 feet that would be suicide in the winter way to steep avalanche danger would be ridiculous unless they don't have classes in the winter

My buddy and I are going to hike it on the 22nd of the month. We'll be at the trail at about 6 a.m. Looks like a cool hike.

Fun hike, did it a few times last year while training for Rainier. Its an ass kicker, very steep but the view from the top is nice. Another great hike on the I-90 corridor is Granite Mountain. Theres an old fire lookout at the top thats well worth the 4.5 mile trip up.

We did granite a few weeks ago heads up on that one if you hit the slide area the trail switchbacks right there and doesnt go across the slide that was a couple of lost hours

yea granite can get tricky if your unfamiliar with it, but its one of my favorite local hikes.

My buddy and I bombed up that sucker today in about an hour and forty five minutes. Cool hike! Too bad it was fogged in on top. Glad I didn't pack my bino's. I'd do it again.

Last time up I noticed a bigger parking lot being put in, and learned they are are planing a longer easier trail to the top! Kinda takes the FUN out of the hike.....
