Well my buddy Fish Killer talked me into going fishin this morning ,, glad he did :dunno:  for you guys headed to the Skagit for that last 2 day run I would be fishing no more than 2 to 3 ft off the bank ...these guys casting out into the middle of the river have no clue on how to catch sockeye ...all salmon are bank runners when the water is high ... use anything red or pink with sandshrimp and you should be fine ... the fish are still coming good which is crazy because we have been catching fish non stop since June 15th....sockeye are usually a quick and short run up the Skagit but not this year ....a sheet load of fish have been caught already ....This will be the second time I ever thanked the WDFW for letting us fish ....thats the way it should be all the time ....the first time I thanked them was when I drew my Bull tag and killed walter :chuckle: :chuckle: I will keep thanking them as long as they are doing what they are supposed to be doing ( conservation ) SO I can keep my freezers full !!! :chuckle: :chuckle: 8)

Today Fish Killer and I only got 2 :bash: :bash: I mean people everywhere :bash: :bash: :bash: GUESS I gave out to much information just by posting a couple pictures 8) But I did help out a couple fellow fishermen today ....I think they are catching some fish now :chuckle: I may take a nap and head out for an evening bite ....Week days are always better for me ...I do not need to crawl threw the bushes to hide from people ;)

You need a freshwater license to fish the Skagit, correct? Thanks.
-
yes you do ..... they are thick but its tough off the bank today because people are everywhere... :dunno: :bash: :bash: :chuckle:
-
Where are all the people coming from? It's worse than the Humpy madness. Combat fishing at it's finest. Starting to wonder if it's not worth the stress and better for my health if I just buy my Sockeye at Costco next year, that is if there is even another season next year :dunno:

It is annoying that they won't let us target them out here in the salt. At the end of ling season there were many days when I had salmon jumping aound me. :bash:

YEAH I can not figure out their way of thinking ...gave up on that years ago ... just like the river , why not open it up all the way to the Baker River ...but no they want you all together so they can manage everyone without much effort... :bash: :bash: :chuckle:

:yeah:
