Title: SPYPOINT PRO-X PLUS TRAIL CAMERA on Camofire
Post by: pianoman9701 on July 14, 2012, 09:31:26 AM: I've never owned a trail cam because the thought of spending that money and having someone steal it holds me back. This camera seems really expensive. Do any of you guys purchase really expensive trail cams and how do you keep them from being stolen?

If I did have the money to spend on the high dollar ones I probably would do it though. I have never had a camera stolen becuase I don't put them where people go. I have been doing this since 2004, and have only had a pic of one human. That was on my first cam that I just put out by the river for a couple days when I was figuring out how it worked.

For me Quantity is better than quality.

With that said, I have a lock on the opening hatch and a cable with a lock through the frame of the camera that I wrap around whatever I'm putting my cameras on. This isn't just for people, the animals will pull your cameras down if just using the nylon strap that they come with to secure them to things. :twocents:

:yeah: I have had to take my cameras down one year for awhile. Had a bear following me around and taking my cams off the tree. I found them within 20ft of the tree, and he did'nt destroy any of them.
Probably was a good bird dog in his last life :chuckle: ( soft mouth)
