damn I just love watching this clip...
-
Awesome video, Jim. Thanks!

Need more videos like this circulating the internet... No one else got hurt from his stray bullets, only the bad guys and he prevented them from doing hard to anyone in there. Also, by hitting his target he helped to identify them after the fact when they went for medical treatment. All around win for the good guys on this one.

 sweet go old guys with guns!
-
a definite message was sent there...
-
Not very smart but it worked.
-
He used speed, he had surprise, and he used violence of action. Seems like he was on the right track. Glad no innocent people got hurt.
-

Wait what? He acted perfectly. He acted quickly, deciseively and without hesitation until the threat ceased. That was a textbook shooting, he had no one behind his target and he hit his targets. Most of all he remained calm and under control. Not sure how it wasn't smart. I can say I would have done exactly the same thing.

You're right, he should've dialed 911.
I'm going to guess that you are a LEO and believe citizens need you to protect them... am I close?
Nice news clip Rasbo, thanks for sharing.

LOL... I was thinking the same thing, hoping that Crunchy comes back to explain... I really would love to hear the rationale behind his statement...

I think it was great, just wished a few more people pulled out steel and made it so those creeps skipped the hospital and were resting under some dirt piles.
But I can somewhat see an opinion like Crunchy stated. To what extent did the guy need to engage the creeps? (for the legal argument) He's chasing them and shooting while their backs are turned. To me this is fine, even chase them down the street and finish them off. But just risky if you ask me with today's prosecutors and judges.

It is sad that we live in a world where a guy who stands up, and protects the innocent would even have to reconsider the actions he took. I am glad no charges will be filed because the thugs got what they deserved great shooting
-
 Great clip Ras!!! Very smart of this guy to take action before these criminals had the chance to kill anyone! They had a gun and baseball bat, theres no way I'm waiting for them to round everyone up and see if there gonna kill anyone before I shoot them!
-
Not very smart but it worked.
this guy voted for obama :bash:
Great video, he isnt being charged, everything is as it should be, other than the robbers lived.
-
What this video also shows is even if you hit someone, they can keep moving and even run (away or towards you). I don't know where he hit them, or how many times but he did hit them and they not only ran, but made it to a hospital...

Yeah but it also shows that criminals are cowards and will run away from a lac with a gun. Not stand their ground like the ok coral
-
Great video, maybe it will change some opinions.

Also true...

Whatever pistol he carried appeared to of a smaller caliber .22, or .380 maybe. I believe if it was something a little bigger you would have seen the impact on the video, and they may not have made it to the hospital which would have been a six figure savings for taxpayers.
-
I thought it was a .380 like a kel-tec or Bersa.
-
Not very smart but it worked.
Wish I could figure out why it wasn't smart and Crunch is hiding..... :dunno:
-
It was a .380 unsure the brand
bad guys had a .45 - but it was rusted up and not functioning and wasn't loaded, also they had a baseball bat.
moral of this story shows you what a .380 can and can't do - he's lucky the .45 wasn't working and he's lucky the bad guys weren't a little more hard core.
the guy who hit the ground didn't trip and fall, he was hit in the pelvis and his leg went dead - but then came back almost right away.
So ya, crunchy is right to a degree - everyone was lucky
bad were lucky it wasn't a bigger gun and better placed shoots, good guy lucky the bad guys weren't packing functioning .45 and the will to use it or just didn't go to work with the baseball bat

You almost took the words outta my mouth KFhunter. That is a great clip, but absolutely shows why I replaced my wife's .380 with a 9mm. Carry the biggest gun you can hide, cause the bad guys do.
-
I wasnt saying his technique wasnt good, because it was . Just saying I would have taken cover first then cranked off a few. It worked out for him well, but had dirt bag turned and fired he would have made a great target. Not worth dying for.

Some not all so don't count out it and carry as big as you can hide and get training so you can make it count!

A lot can be said for " shock and awe" criminals don't expect an armed citizenry. If they did they would not rob that place to begin with. Just watch the John stossel interview with convicts on gun control. Of course there is always exceptions to the rule.
-
To obtain cover the shooter(defender) would have put innocent people into the line of fire if the attackers had been able to return fire. Plus who can tell if a rusty gun is functional or not just by looking at it.
-
Jaymark, as you pointed out it wasnt a perfect scenario for the citizen. But those same factors are probably what led the guy to act. Ie, innocent people were in danger so he acted. He had the stones to act, he did it in a competent way, and Im glad he got the job done. He deserves praise for a job well done.
