Heading over to the oly penn to do some car camping this weekend around Hamma Hamma river. I know that there's designated dates/times/beaches for digging razor clams on the coast but I always see people out with buckets on the shores along highway 101.
Are there beaches on the way out there that are open to clamming (steamers and such)?
Thanks, would be awesome to pick up a quick meal on the way out there Friday!

If you're going to Hamma Hamma id hit up the duckabush. Plenty of clams and oyters. I think it's open year around or both but you'll have to check

I've skimmed over the regs before but just real quickly. Would I look in the fishing regs?

Yup in the back under shellfish, there's a list of public beaches and it tells season dates, there is a minimum size on clams and oysters and you gotta shuck the oysters on the beach, just in case you didn't know. I used to drive all the way up there from shelton but I finally realized there's a beach much closer that's always open too.

Should be in shellfish in the fishing regs. I'd check the website, as there have been closures on beaches and bays along Hood Canal and the Strait.
punch in the beach/county here:

Thanks fellas I found the website that shows a list of the beaches available for shellfishing along the canal. Looks like it is open barring any special closures.
Thanks again

easy pickens for oysters at the state beach at LILLIWAUP but no clams there.
