Title: evening or cloudy weather dock crabbing better?

Is crabbing in the evening or on a cloudy from a dock better than in the sun?  Didn't know if more crabs would come further into the shallows if it wasn't so bright.

I find them more active at night, but I am guessing if you are fishing in shallow water clouds would help.
