I went and bought a Bugling bull bugle today and made a stop a couple miles from my house on the way home to try it out. Practicing in the truck sounded horrible.
Well sure enough before I could even finish my first bugle I got a response. I figured it was echo but nope it wasn't. He bugled back 3 times in 20 seconds.
I figured I'll practice on the "safe" skok bulls :chuckle:

Hope it wasn't another guy practicing with his bugle thinking the same thing.

Nice to hear such an update. Thanks.

Music to my ears.

Music to my ears.
I could listen to them all day....and night.
I was actually shocked to get a response this early. But I know the elk were there and that's why I stopped where I did. You could hear the cows talking too.

When i was camping 4th july (there wasnt any camps around) i heard a couple bugles

Have yet to hear or see an elk in the wild. There was the time we saw them along the rode out to the Olympics. The pictures are mind blowing. What a cool animal and privilege to hunt

any of you guys have your phone ring tone set to elk bugle? Or deer rattling? Or grouse drumming?
-
I got the verzion elk bugle. its 3 differnt bugles, one of them has some nice growlyness to it, with a little techno mix,and my texts are set to a simular one but i call it the ghost elk scream :chuckle:. When my phone rings, people look at me like WTF is going on! :yike: I would like a good turkey but all the verizon ones sound fake and dumb.
-
I have ever alert on my phone set to a different elk bugle :chuckle:

elk bugle and chirp and such same as horses whinny its part of communication and they will do it all year round, they really wind up with the bugles during the rut but can be heard other times of the year. I heard one about a month ago he sounded lost :chuckle: probably a young bull on his own for the first time :chuckle:

You've got to love it.
Your diaphragm will ship tomorrow. Then you will probably have them in your lap. :chuckle:
I don't want to start a huge debate but if your goal is to kill that bull be careful about calling too early too often :twocents:

Now imagine a large gymnasium filled with about 500 people and one person talking on a mic to the whole audience and all of a sudden you hear this loud bugle rip through the audience! :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: I was sitting about 10 people over from this gentleman who had his cellphone on extra loud ringer and his ring tone set to an elk bugle and forgot to turn his ringer off, classic! :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

It's my understanding that majority of the Wetside Tribes seasons don't start til Aug. 1st to Sept. 15. :dunno: Maybe I'm wrong and who knows, maybe you just happened to come across some poachers? :dunno:
