Well I have been waiting to find the perfect Grendel upper for me and what I was looking for. I found it with ten percent firearms in Cali. I ordered a Sabre Defence 20" 6.5 upper tonight. I have had the lower put together for months now and finished my 223's first. Now in a few days I will be able to finish it! They hooked me up with a great price a few bonus mags :IBCOOL: I cant' wait! Now it's time for a order threw hornady!!!! Time to put the professional pricing to work with some new dies brass and bullets :IBCOOL: Have a sexy Leupold that will match the 6.5 nice :IBCOOL:

Congrats carp!!!! can't wait to see pics

Welcome to the world of the 6.5. Now you have to get rid of everything 7mm or 270 diameter lol.

I just got setup with northwest hydro print as well. I think I am going to send in the forearm and have it dipped.

Looks like a BUNCH of fun! Are you going to run some of the factory Hornady A-Max? If so,keep us up to speed on how it shoots, I would like to know how it does in that Sabre barrel. That ammo is a smoking deal even if your a avid reloader, for the price you get one firing and then the brass. It was priced so well, it was way easier to get the loaded stuff and then reload the brass. The stuff shot so well I just kept buying the factory "Sissy" :chuckle: Hornady ammo.

in my 'mystery' barrel, the 123's against nosler 120's at 100yds

Yeah I ordered the factory ammo the amax match stuff from them. They sent my dies and other crap out this morning but the ammo is on backorder :yike: Might have to look for some at the gun show this weekend. Even though my scope is atleast a few weeks out from leupold.
Hammer you thought it was a smoking deal, I would hate to send you my price sheets :chuckle: Easy to feed the monsters even with factory ammo. Hornady has been real good to me and got me setup. I am still a nosler S^*T :chuckle: Cant wait to send those amax's down range and stuff some 130g or 140g accubonds in there :IBCOOL: I am going to try to talk my little bro into shooting a deer with it this year and maybe his soon to be wife to :IBCOOL:
I don't know if I could do it, 2600.00 setup :yike:
Maybe I will just make them stick to the tikka's :chuckle: Just kidding that one was for you hammer :chuckle:
-
The Tikka's are more affordable to drive, you have to pay to play. ;) Maybe you should order a extra case through Hornady and leave it where I can find it. :chuckle:
John,
Is that group a hand load with the 120 BT's or a factory load?
Edited: Obviously a handload once I went back and looked again.
-
Jealous. Thats a nice look rig
-
:chuckle: I looked at in the safe and had to think, dang I could have bought 5 tikka's for what I have into this one AR :chuckle: Oh well I have enough tikka's anyways :chuckle:
I have 2 new builds sitting in my safe with no glass :'( Soon, very soon that will change and its time to burn some ammo!!!!
-
you should sell me a tikka, my wife needs one
-
I love all mine way to much! :chuckle: Even thought I have a couple that have not even been shot yet :chuckle:
-
Lol you know I could come help solve that problem :chuckle:
-
That's nice

Cool! What are you going to put on them for scopes? I just put a Burris Tac-30 3.5x10 on a Rock River 1-piece Hi-Rise mount on my 20 LBC build. All I lack now is the right bolt, and I start burning ammo.
-
This one is getting a 6.5-20x40mm vx3. The other is getting a 6-18x40 mark AR scope.
This new leupold order kinda kicked me in the "well you know" :chuckle: Still happy as hell if I added it all up at retail value :yike:
-
Mmmm...Quality all the way. Leupys are worth every penny. My old eyes seem to like Burris scopes. My wallet does, too. :chuckle:
-
I have a couple of those as well. Just on my hunting handguns. I had one that I had to send back to burris the cross hairs broke. Sent it back and they made it right. Took about a month to get it back but they fixed it.

Does the 6.5 Grendel fit the regular AR-15 lower??

Yes, just need bolt, barrel and mag, the rest is the same as a 5.56 AR-15
