Just can't wait for this hunt and neither can the wife. So much scouting to do still and just can't stop thinking about this tag every day hoping the wife whacks a monster. Have a few cameras out trying to help find them big boys!
-
Thats gonna be a great hunt,
-
Hope she gets a dandy
-
What is she targeting? 300" minimum?
-
Good luck and hope she sticks a big one.
-
That unit is open and easy to hunt with a rifle especially during the rut. If they scout enough they shoukd hold out for 350" minimum.

Or you could let some of those monsters you got penned up and then she could really bring in a monster! :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

:yeah: atleast a 350. Do your home work and you will find out in a hurry not to settle for anything less. good luck

The wife is the one that gets to choose the bull! But I will see what we can round up during the scouting trips and camera pictures to decide what our minumum will be but hopefully very very big bull will be down come late Sept. Thanks for the posts and will keep you updated on the hunt when it comes!

Enjoy that tag! That will be a great hunt!

We hunted that unit very hard for many weekends last year and only saw two bulls out of 75-80 that would go over 350 , maybe a third . If I saw a 330 class bull on a five day hunt it would be hard to pass . I suggest that you spend every minute you can between now and her hunt two figure out your spot . Get ready to pack a bull outta some steep stuff too!

Just a teaser pic

Oh boy you better delete this pic, hunterrcc will get mad because now everyone knows where these big bulls are so they are gonna get poached.
-
He better cross his fingers that they get this fire out and it doesn't jump the hwys. With the beetle kill and underbrush and dry conditions that fire could go from the teanaway to the columbia river real easy.

Hopefully the fire wont jump the highway and get in there. On the bright side all thos bulls that call hidden valley home will most likely head to the teanaway and up into blewitt, so that could be a plus..
-
Hey I know that bull !
-
I heard of some nice bucks that got flushed out of thier private refuge along the Yakima due to this fire. Someone might benefit from this ordeal. :dunno:
-
I know there was a couple dandys that lost there homes , thorp fruit stand might be a good place to hunt :chuckle:

I have the archery cow tag sept 1-7 in the Malaga unit which is within the mission unit. I've been up there a few times scouting. I have seen a couple really good bulls worth taking a peek at. I'm heading up tonight to start my hunt. IM me for some info

So where are the updates? :dunno: Why start a post like this bragging about drawing such a great hunt and then not share a story and pics. Pretty jacked up if you ask me. Why tell everyone your gonna update and share your hunt and then decide not to?
Personally I would like to know what its like to hunt branch bulls in the Colockum. It's something that I will never get to do. So I can only live through people who are fortunate enough (like your wife) to draw these tags.
Sharing hunting stories is what this website is about. If your not gonna share your stories then why are you on this website? I'm just curious what made you change your mind about posting up pics and a story :dunno:
-
I am assuming that the hunt did not go so well. I am sure you had a good time though..
-
I drew this tag in 2005 and drilled an archery pig! Hope all is ok? Need story good or bad? Were here to help! :hello:
-
she did great! but it's their decission whether or not to post.
-
Ould like to see and read a good ending.
-
So frustrating when people don't finish what they start, I mean this guy has gotten a lot of good help on here over multiple posts to not share the result is bs.
-
I keep hearing around the burg that they took a nice bull!!!

Eburg is funny, rumors fly like the fire but I like the sounds of this one!

I think your pointing your finger at the wrong person when blaming ridgerunner. :twocents: congrats to your wife.
-
I don't think Ridgerunner's post was rude at all. I think he has a great point. Alot of people come on here, draw a super tag ask for help or advise, and then when they score they leave. Now obviously you have been around for awhile so you are not gonna leave this website. But you did come on here advertising that your wife drew a once in a life time tag. You may have never publicly asked for advice but you knew darn well that when people on this website found out that your wife drew that OIL tag people would be sending you advise that you would benefit from. Then once your hunt was over you advertise that you will not be posting a story. So that makes alot of people think why bother? Why help someone out?
So if you never had any intentions of telling the story or showing pics then why did you advertise that your wife drew that super tag? Other than to glean some free advise! If your gonna keep the story and the pics private and only amongst family and friends than you should have kept the fact that you drew the tag amongst only family and friends. :twocents:
-
Well said and I can agree if you boast about it then show it. Otherwise its just smoke being blown up peoples pants. I drew an OIL tag now time to sit back and wait for the advise to come pouring in! Advice, tips, pointers and honey holes welcomed but not asking!?!? :chuckle:
-
So what's up? did you guys end up getting a bull?
