Title: early or late deer hunt for archery

Post by: enaz on July 27, 2012, 08:23:44 AM: There are many bucks around the westside the begginning of september. Many of which still carrying velvet and their summer coats. It is true that they are not as heavy and you might get a little less meat but I think it taste great that time of year. They haven't gone through the rut yet are much less spooky in my opinion. I can't deny the appeal of the late season, gray coated, hard horned,thick necked blacky though. Evenings are best.

Post by: BowBender87 on July 27, 2012, 08:51:06 AM: If your trying to get a big buck i think early season would be best. They are alot less spooked and mainly travel with other bucks. Late season, alot of the big ones are practically nocturnal but they do look way nicer if you plan on puttin one up on the wall!
