UN States Fail to Reach Global Arms Trade Treaty
U.N. member states have failed to reach agreement on a new treaty to regulate the multibillion dollar global arms trade.
Some diplomats and treaty supporters blamed the United States for triggering the unraveling of the month-long negotiating conference.
Hopes had been raised that agreement could be reached on a revised treaty text that closed some key loopholes by Friday's deadline for action. But the United States announced Friday morning that it needed more time to consider the proposed treaty — and Russia and China then also asked for more time.

They probably decided to drop it for now in hopes that *censored* bag may get re-elected.

Well I guess I wasted $1,000 buying end of the world ammo yesterday. :bash:
Now how am I going to get rid of it all? :dunno:

I wouldn't be in a hurry to get rid of it. The Communists have been making inroads into the US since the 1930's. Now they even have a man in the White House. You may need it yet....

I figure the plan is to bring this back up after the election.
Remember the audio slip with Obama and Putin.....
Obama open mic slip: 'After my election I have more flexibility' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsFR8DbSRQE#)

It may be postponed for now. The key is to vote all the people out of office that were pushing for this.

Its Greek... from the Battle of Thermopolaye. A small, innocuous monument still stands at the pass today with these two simple words. Remember "300"?
"Spartans.... lay down your weapons!"
... Spear kills messenger
"Persians: Come and get them!"

http://moran.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/news-releases?ContentRecord_id=2b02a67f-2179-41fc-be55-3502163c8510
Take note of the Senators who opposed the UN Arm Trade Treaty; these Senators are our friends. Also note that there are NO Senators from Washington that signed.
"The letter was signed by U.S. Senators Lamar Alexander (R-TN), Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Max Baucus (D-MT), John Barrasso (R-WY), Mark Begich (D-AK), Roy Blunt (R-MO), John Boozman (R-AR), Richard Burr (R-NC), Bob Casey (D-PA), Dan Coats (R-IN), Tom Coburn (R-OK), Thad Cochran (R-MS), Susan Collins (R-ME), Bob Corker (R-TN), John Cornyn (R-TX), Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), Mike Crapo (R-ID), Jim DeMint (R-SC), Mike Enzi (R-WY), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Dean Heller (R-NV), John Hoeven (R-ND), Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), James Inhofe (R-OK), Johnny Isakson (R-GA), Mike Johanns (R-NE), Ron Johnson (R-WI), Jon Kyl (R-AZ), Mike Lee (R-UT), Joe Manchin (D-WV), Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Jerry Moran (R-KS), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Ben Nelson (D-NE), Rand Paul (R-KY), Rob Portman (R-OH), Mark Pryor (D-AR), Jim Risch (R-ID), Pat Roberts (R-KS), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Richard Shelby (R-AL), Olympia Snowe (R-ME), Jon Tester (D-MT), John Thune (R-SD), Pat Toomey (R-PA), David Vitter (R-LA), Jim Webb (D-VA), and Roger Wicker (R-MS)."
I tried to upload a copy of the actual letter as a PDF, but it didn't work. There is a link to the PDF version of the letter at the bottom of the article.
You might consider sending Senator Moran a thank you for organizing the group of Senators to oppose the UN ATT. He did a great service for everyone in this country. It only takes a minute.

GAWD I hope we can get rid of one of those this year, but I sure haven't heard much from or about Mr. B which is not encouraging

The Only Senator we can vote out of office this year is Cantwell. By the way, the NRA gives Cantwell an "F" rating.
There are a lot of candidates running against Cantwell; that will most likely have the effect of diluting the votes of her opponents, and still leaving her with the majority of the votes. It's hard to say if all of the candidates are legitimate, or if some entered the race as shills. That is, in some political races, some candidates may be there by design of the incumbent to dilute the votes that will go against them; divide and conquer.
:twocents:
If I might be so bold as to suggest we focus on one candidate as a viable opponent to Cantwell, Michael Baumgartner (R). The NRA gives him an “A” rating, he has experience, and appears to be on our side of the fence on issues.
