Title: wad with conicals?
Post by: kerrdog on July 28, 2012, 07:59:35 AM
While checking out the Triple 7 ballistics chart I noticed a note that said "*all conical bullet loads perform best with a felt wad between the powder and the base of the bullet."  Does anyone here do this?  It never occurred to me. :dunno:

And what does perform better mean?  More muzzle velocity or better precision?

I use a shot card with flat bottom bullets especially when shooting T7... T7 gets so hot it will melt the lead on the bottom of the bullets so the shot card protects the bottom of the bullet and insolate the lube on the bullet from getting to the powder.
