3 red rocks yesterday, another 5 today, and I still want to add another 100' to my line and get deeper to see if I can get some Dungy's

Nice! I hear the red rocks are as good to eat as the dungies!

trying to get the meat out of red rocks is frustrating because its hard to dig between all the "bones" and disappointing in the end with little meat.  i throw most back unless they are big 'uns

Use the handle end of a spoon. Theres just as much meat, its just more in the body. Reds are a little sweeter than most crabs.

Good job DJ.  I think if you want more dungies, maybe look at different bottom types vs depth.  The dungies seem to like the eel grass and the reds like more of the rocky bottom.  Either way, have fun.

Don't throw them back!  They are predatory to Dungies.  I'd donate them before throwing them back.

I pick as best I can at the bodies but I know I lose a lot of meat because I just can't get the meat out without crushing shell all in it.  The legs and claws get picked clean though.

Button Nubbs, the water is 55 degrees year round so yea, it's cold.  I've gotten pretty good at getting in and out of the raft without getting too wet.  The picks from the first day it was sunny and hot out so, a little dip in the bay was nice.  Not so much the last couple of days so I've tried to stay dry.

The place is crawling with dungies.  We pull them up all the time.  They're just 4" or less.  Figured there'd be bigger ones in there somewhere but, out of the couple hundred (no joke) dungies we've pulled up, there hasn't been one keeper.
