Was looking forward to the opener.... But with the weather I'd probably have to shoot a baby to get it out of where I hunt quick enough.... Plus I broke some weird bone in the pad of my foot about a week ago and it's still not ready for hiking... Or house work.... :chuckle: Doesn't really like to press the gas pedal either....

Don't know why but I've seen the most bears when its been the hottest weather. And not just in the creekbottoms. Might seem wrong but I guess they are out eating no matter what the weather. They don't have a choice of staying home out of the woods like hunters.

Main thing is to get the hide off as fast as possible, and cool the carcase quickly. Even just hanging it in the shade helps. Good luck! Take pictures!
