Title: Getting The Gear Together
Post by: Hunterman on August 05, 2012, 09:57:05 AM
I figure I'll start with about 20 leaders of each line weight ( 20, 30, & 50) should be good for a couple of days of Westport fishing..Although we are going for seabass & lings, I might go after some salmon while we're out  We only have 6 days to go until we leave  ( one week of work  :bash: ) birght and early Saturday morning  :IBCOOL:  Should be on the road by 11:00am  :chuckle:  ( This is going to be a LOOOOONG weeek  :bash: )

I used to fish out of westport A LOT!! We normally ran #40 main and #20 leader or #50 main and #30 leaders. I think if I still fished the salt, I would run (for bottom fish) a good braid or dacron and a #30 leader. Or wire for the toothy critters. I love light gear for salmon. I think the heaviest I would go for salmon is #30 main....just my  :twocents: good luck, have fun, tight lines.
