I thought I would be the first to start this post this year. I'm really hoping to avoid the mess of last seasons early archery fire closures!
Forecast looks OK so far as theres been low clouds hanging around over most of Western WA until the early afternoons. Hope we get a couple days of good rains before Sept.
-
Im praying for rain over here on the eastside.... Its way to hot and dry....
-
I guess only hunters and fishermen would ever pray for rain in the Pacific NW. :chuckle:

:yeah: Rain, but no lightning. Forecast is for another couple of weeks of hot dry weather. Typical for the eastside this time of year! :'(
-
I'm doing the rain dance as well. The early part of summer was the wettest I can remember but it's been warm and dry with a few hot days, I'd say it's not good. Really hoping for some good rain soon!
-
If we get no rain in the next 2.5 weeks, they will shut down the timber lands right before Labor Day weekend. That is my prediction.
-
praying for a wet hunting season!
-
I will be on my knees praying. Last year on the east side was just a couple degrees shy of 100 until the last 3 days. Too HOT
-
Don't want a repeat of last season where we were shut out for most of the early season. Come on cool weather and some rain, Oregon just upgraded thier fire danger restrictions. I am sure WEYCO is close to putting up the big red signs. Oh wait that doesn't happen till Labor day since season is a few days later.
-
No rain in the forecast in Western Washington for the next 10 days.

:chuckle: sometimes it works, sometimes is doesn't.

This is exactly why I am hunting the eastside for elk this year
I dont think they will shutdown the Taneum
-
We have already started the rain dance in the north east. It is going to be hot.
-
Please Oh Lord, let it rain on our blessed heads so we can send Elk and Deer souls to your heavens. Amen!

That is how I ended up hunting the Manastash for 20 years, but no late nights around the campfire swapping stories.
Elk camp with a firepit full of peanut shells is just not the same as looking at glowing embers and planning the next days hunt with my friends...

STIKNSTRINGBOW
Understand on the firepit, it sure beats the crap out of everywhere you go seeing no public entry signs though doesnt it ?
And every year some idiot gets a ticket up there for having a fire anyway, the trees over on that side are just red and dead.
sucks to only have one way in and one way out .
-
my new spot is state land, dnr campsite with established firepits.
gated roads with walk in access allowed, see more hunters during closure years, but they are usually too lazy to walk very far behind the gates.
-
hopefully it will rain alot for a few days, but it seems to be the same every year. but i know of some state land so i can hit that as my backup plan :IBCOOL:
-
Oh ya, it will bring out the chanties too...yum, yum.
-
I'm just pulling out of Manastash and it is pretty dry, praying for rain. Only elk I saw was down low!
-
I hunt state land, I'm praying for rain to keep you fuc#ers out of my area :chuckle:
-
i just hope the farmers almanac is wrong, it has been dead on so far this year. the almanac calls for dry weather through first half of sept. drew a margaret tag, so need it to rain.
-
Im praying for SNOW!!! For my jan cow muzzy hunt!! But I still would like some rain for Sept archery deer so the ground isn't so danm crunchy! :bash:
-
Im gonna be the bad guy here!
I want it hot and dry the first week of sept... I have a couple water sources that will be money if its hot like it was last year!
