Title: Grande Ronde winter steel

Hey all, im trying to plan a week or so trip to the Grande Ronde to fish steelhead this winter and was wondering how December looks typically for the river? I usually have most of December off, so Im lookin to take the wall tent and make a trip out of it.. if anyone has any info or advice id appreciate it! thanks!!  feel free to pm me as well!

A little early for winters, least that's how it was last year. There will still be summers to pick up though.

All the fish in the Ronde are summer run..they enter the Ronde in September and continue up the river till the water temp drops and they hold from lower Granite dam all the way up..till there is some run off they begin there journey. Fishing can be fantastic in December or downright miserable! its really tough to judge and usually a call I make within a week of going. The river could be in great shape, blown out from snow melting or froze up. Bottom line there is fish there.

u can check the the USGS site and click on the Grande ronde in troy,oregon and get the flow.
