Yellow perch from Lake Washington. 4 hours and 4 rods. Got some tasty meals for the fryer. 20.8 lbs of fillets.
-
That's a haul!!!

 there are some toads in that lake. We used to catch the crap out of them as kids. Good times!

MMMMMMM, deep fried perch and crappie with homemade tarter sauce....

That's a lot of work for 20 + lbs of fillets. One salmon or 2 + hours of cleaning fun. Hmm. The catching part would be a kick.

IMO there is no comparing salmon to perch. I will take 1 lb of deep fried or pan fried perch over a 40lb salmon fillet every day of the week!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well worth the work and nice haul on some chunky looking perch!!!!!
HELL YES..... you hit that right on the head, idk if you know which i am sure you do but a 2x8 about a foot long with a nail stickn through one side makes it a piece of cake to fillet them sweet morsals

Nice work Kenzmad. How deep are they right now? Any real biggie's in the bunch?
-
We found them in 15-17' of water. Right on the edge of the weeds. No real big ones. Largest was right at 13"
-
13 is a big perch in my book.
-
Hope Rob sees the thread.....he can take his "big brother" little buddy out and slay some perch.
-
very nice haul.

I dearly love eating and catching salmon and I have the good fortune to work as a fishing guide each summer on Alaska's top king salmon fishery.....but give me perch any day of the week if I had to choose just one kind of fish to catch and eat!
Especially Lk WA. Go out in the winter too.....just fish deeeeeeeeep.
Let me know if anyone wants any "secret" tips and spots to catch winter perch in Lk WA.
