Title: Diaphram calling technique
Post by: ouchfoss on August 24, 2012, 02:23:33 PM: Mouth reed diaphram calling for elk is something I have always wanted to get good at for either cow talking or bull bugles but I have avoided it because it was hard to learn and there was so many closed reed calls available that were easy to use and did an "OK" job. I bought some reed calls a few days ago and starting learning how to use them and I found this video and thought it might be worth posting to help with others learning. This is guy Rockie is VERY good at calling. I dont think you could get any more authentic sounding then what he can do. :twocents:

Post by: ouchfoss on August 24, 2012, 09:26:17 PM: Diaphram calling is definetly harder to learn than closed reed calling. I am still having a hard time with cow chirping after a few days of annoying the wife. :chuckle: This video is helping me out though.

I also saw him and Jim horn at XXX archery a few years ago, great info and great guys. Go to Rockies website and elk nuts and there is lots of info available. Practice practice and more practice, I listen to CDs every summer While driving around. Call along with them, has made my 6 and 8 year old sons good callers also.
